On my way into work this morning (hey David, I still don't have my MP3 player installed!!), I was suddenly caught in a moment of thought. What is a home, is it bricks and slate? Tin and glass? Not really was my conclusion... sure those could be a house but not always a home.

Today's tune, "Home" by the Goo Goo Dolls kinda covers that sentiment. Home really is where the heart is. How often do we find ourselves in those crowded rooms with people that seem to just be passing time? The emptiness?

Before It's Too Late

I was watching "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" where one of the themes running through the movie was age, but more specifically time. That there is never enough of it... but also that it's never too late or too early to do something or change your mind. In all I thought it was a fantastic movie.

"Before It's Too Late", by the Goo Goo Dolls, comes from a totally different type of movie, but this track really ties in well. One of the highlights of the Transformers movie was the soundtrack (I was really bummed at much of the way Bay "updated" the Transformers). But possibly one of the more powerful lines to have come out of a movie for quite some time, "Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?" I think people fear things way too much... just do it.

At some point this was everyones song. The Goo Goo Dolls really outdo themselves on this one. Heard someone mention that they just love it when the Goo Goo Dolls get radio play that isn't Iris (even though there's nothing wrong with that) and in true fashion got me thinking about the song.

Is it love refused, love rejected or just love unknown. I guess it doesn't really matter when the outcome is the same.

Giving up forever might be to lose a lot of time. On the other hand, a lot of time and nobody to share it might be even longer.

I'm Still Here!

I've come to one very big decision. I'm not going to change. How can the world want me to change? For as long as I can remember people have been saying do this, do that... grow up (that's got to be my favourite!) but why? So that they will feel happier? About what exactly.

No, here I am... I'll make my stand. This is who I am, I will not change. If I am to be Peter Pan, then let me.

This brings me to the theme song for the movie Treasure Planet by the Goo Goo Dolls. I always loved the story of Treasure Island, guess it's the adventurer in me.

I'm setting sail, just need two things first - Tinkerbell* and some Fairy Dust. Then it's on to follow the second star on the right, and home til morning.

* I've decided that with my angel tattoo, I'm also going to have a Tinkerbell done. Everyone needs their own fairy.
