Once Upon a December

I got to watching Anastasia again last night. There is something magical about the story and the musical score.

"Once Upon a December", performed by Deana Carter, is a tale of memories that holds a lot of meaning for me. I've added this song before thinking how so many of my stories have begun with "Once upon a December..." Some of them good... some of them not so, but so many memories.

Dancing bears,
Painted wings,
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory...

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart
Used to know,
Once Upon A December...

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory...

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart
Used to know,
Things it yearns to remember...

And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December

Before the memories fade, I'll think back to a December far away and long ago.

Once Upon a December

Not really sure why this one popped into my head this morning. Guess I'm still thinking back to a December a few years back. Memories fade... But I'm trying to hang on.

This one comes from the animated movie, Anastasia as she's trying to piece her past together.

Dancing bears,
Painted wings,
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory...

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart
Used to know,
Once Upon A December...

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory...

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart
Used to know,
Things it yearns to remember...

And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December

Some of my favourite stories begin, once upon a December.
