Perfect sunrise, watched the sun shimmering off of the ocean. A pure morning.
So with that in mind the best title for today's track is simply "Pure Morning" which is a track from the late '90s by Placebo. While another rather deep track from this band, I like the simplicity of it.
To a pure morning, may it be shared with friends those in need... and any of the others too.
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend with weed is better,
A friend with breasts and all the rest,
A friend who's dressed in leather,
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend who'll tease is better ,
Our thoughts compress,
Which makes us blessed,
And makes for stormy weather,
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
My Japanese is better,
And when she's pressed, she will undress,
And then she's boxing clever,
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend who bleeds is better,
My friend confessed she passed the test,
And we will never sever,
Day's dawning, skins crawling [repeat three more times]
Pure morning, [repeat this three more times]
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend who'll tease is better,
Our thoughts compress,
Which makes us blessed,
And makes for stormy weather,
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend who bleeds is better,
My friend confessed she passed the test,
And we will never sever,
Day's dawning, skins crawling
Day's dawning, skins crawling
Day's dawning, skins crawling
Day's dawning, skins crawling
Pure morning,
Pure morning,
Pure morning,
Pure morning,
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
My Japanese is better,
And when she's pressed, she will undress,
And then she's boxing clever,
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend with weed is better,
A friend with breasts and all the rest,
A friend who's dressed in leather
Oddly enough I've given Japan some thought of late... stranger things have happened I suppose.

Protege-Moi
I can't believe I've added so little Placebo. One of my favourite bands and ultimately one that's as much an experience as a good whisky.
I think we all need protection from what we think we want, or for that matter that which we want far too badly. This song haunts me at the best of times making it awesome!
There is supposed to be an English version of this song, but after finding the lyrics (vs the translation which obviously doesn't sing well) I have to say that this one just sounds so much better and has a much stronger feel to it.
C'est le malaise du moment
L'épidémie qui s'étend
La fête est finie on descend
Les pensées qui glacent la raison
Paupières baissées, visage gris
Surgissent les fantômes de notre lit
On ouvre le loquet de la grille
Du taudis qu'on appelle maison
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me
Protect me
Protège-moi, protège-moi
Protège-moi, protège-moi
Protège-moi, protège-moi
Protège-moi, protège-moi
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me
Protect me
Protect me from what I want (Protège-moi, protège-moi)
Protect me from what I want (Protège-moi, protège-moi)
Protect me from what I want (Protège-moi, protège-moi)
Protect me
Protect me
Protège-moi, protège-moi
Protège-moi de mes désirs
Protège-moi, protège-moi
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want (protège-moi)
Protect me
Protect me
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want (protège-moi)
Protect me
Protect me
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want
Protect me from what I want (protège-moi)
Protect me
Protect me
(protège-moi)
Protect me...

Infra-Red
This is just a pretty awesome track from a very unusual band.
Placebo pretty much always deliver the goods. This one, "Infra-Red" is kinda haunting and scary, all rolled into one. For the most part it seems to be someone's final crusade, to take a final swipe at someone... if it's the last thing they do.
One last thing before I shuffle off the planet
I will be the one to make you crawl
so I came down to wish you an unhappy birthday
someone call the ambulance there’s gonna be an accident
I’m coming up on infra-red,
there is no running that can hide you
cause I can see in the dark
I’m coming up on infra-red,
forget your running, I will find you
One more thing before we start the final face off
I will be the one to watch you fall
so I came down to crash and burn your beggars banquet
someone call the ambulance there’s gonna be an accident
I’m coming up on infra-red,
there is no running that can hide you
cause I can see in the dark
I’m coming up on infra-red,
forget your running, I will find you
(I will find you!)
someone call the ambulance there’s gonna be an accident
I’m coming up on infra-red,
there is no running that can hide you
cause I can see in the dark
I’m coming up on infra-red,
forget your running, I will find you
cause I can see in the dark
I’m coming up on infra-red,
there is no running that can hide you
cause I can see in the dark
I’m coming up on infra-red,
forget your running,
I will find you
I will find you
I will find you
I'm not much one for birthdays... but on the odd occasion, perhaps an unhappy birthday might just work. Then again, isn't that just too much effort?
