Amazing

Yeah I know, seems I've started recycling tracks now.  I guess to some degree I have but mostly because we're reminded every day of a particular song that stuck for a particular reason.

"Amazing" by Aerosmith is just one of those that points out how a little clarity can make the world of difference and this really is a lightbulb moment - it's that fast.  It's always the journey that makes a destination that much more valuable, something about the challenge.  Take it a step at a time, after all, you have to walk before you can run and crawl before you walk.

So no matter the desperation, the moment will come when everything will just be alright.

It really is amazing that once you realise that it's the journey and not so much the destination, things become so much clearer.

Amazing

Well, well... well. Found a few real gems this week. It's quite simply amazing that I've managed to overlook so many great tracks so far. Then again, there is so much great stuff out there that it's hard to cover it all.

Aerosmith are a band that really were big (to me) during the 90's. They got a lot of radio play from Barney Simon (does anyone else remember him). Today's tune, "Amazing" brings up some really good points. Things are pretty amazing if you sit and think about it, it just takes that moment of clarity.

It is pretty amazing when that "I'm-Awesome-Pill" kicks in... just wish more folk would take theirs.

Pink

Well... moving onto something rather amusing and very lighthearted this morning. I'm going onto my favourite colour, Pink.

"Pink", by Aerosmith is one of those that if you've seen the music video cannot fail to make you chuckle.

I Don't Want To Miss A Thing

Ended up watching Deep Impact last night and then read about the first commercial space flight this morning. This has got the space bug rolling once again. Wish I could "boldly go where no man has gone before..."

Today's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" from Aerosmith is rather poppy and sentimental in comparison to their other tracks (then again, they didn't write it, they only perform it). As with all songs, take what you want and leave out all the rest.

Back the movie last night, it was interesting to note just how many people were willing to sacrifice so much to ensure the survival of another. I guess it's easier to make these decisions when others have so much more to lose.

Full Circle

I'm surprised I haven't come onto this one yet. Guess I've spent an awful long time focusing on the now and nothing else. While it's often dangerous to dwell in the past it is often useful, helpful and amazingly reassuring to be able to look back and see how far you've come. Makes me think of a few folk...

Full Circle by Aerosmith ranks up there with some of the more sentimental tracks I've got. As with most songs, it's what you take that is really the important stuff. While there must be 101 meanings behind this one, I prefer to see it as a "seize the moment" kinda song.

Living on the Edge

With the weekend coming to an end (but tomorrow being a holiday) I'm constantly reminded of a saying an old friend had, "Live on the edge, that way they can only screw you from 3 sides!"

Can't really argue with that one. Although it is a far cry from the old saying, "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space."

"Living on the Edge" an all time favourite of mine by Aerosmith. While there's been a lot of talk of the band changing, they have had the same lineup for like, ever. I'm still wanting to get "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" for my Wii.

I think that the things in the world that are right simply scare most folk. But they're worth hanging onto.

Getting Older

Looking at a lot of the photos coming at me on Facebook these days makes me think just how time is passing by. Am I really getting that old?

Dream on has been covered by many. An Aerosmith classic and covered by DIO but think my favourite version might just be the Kelly Sweet version. For some reason it sounds very sad and haunting. And while I believe that it is supposed to be uplifting in many regards I can't help but feel that it is also a plead for what has come to past.

Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, I guess we all have something to sing about, be it good or bad. It's all we have.
