Heart Shaped Box

Today I was in a bit of a Foo Fighters mood but found myself drawn to this classic. While not really much of a Nirvana fan, but once in a while one of their tracks has kinda stuck on me.

"Heart Shaped Box" is one of those, while I think it's the guitar intro that really hooks me, there is not argument on the value of the lyrics on this either.

If I'm not mistaken this one is about a child that somehow worked its way into Kurts heart, one that was deathly ill. Isn't it amazing how the smallest of people can teach us so much and yet hold us trapped for an eternity.

She eyes me like a pisces when I am weak
I've been locked inside your Heart Shaped box for a weeks
I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black

Hey!
Wait!
I've got a new complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice
hey
wait
I've got a new complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice
Hey!
Wait!
I've got a new complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice

...your advice

Meat-eating orchids forgive no one just yet
Cut myself on Angel Hair and baby's breath
Broken hymen of your highness I'm left black
Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back

Hey!
Wait!
I've got a new complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice

Forever in debt to your priceless advice

Gotta love little people, they teach us far more about ourselves than we could have hoped to learn.
