The Unforgiven Ones

Now here's a band that seemed to hit some pretty big highs in the early 90's then just disappear from sight. The Crash Test Dummies were one my first CD's (God Shuffled His Feet) and still all round my feel good band.

It seems that Brad Roberts decided that he simply wasn't making money from music so kinda faded away for a while... then once he'd accepted this he suddenly started making music again - for the love of it.

And that leaves us with today's song, "The Unforgiven Ones". I'm not quite sure I get it. While it covers both the good and bad, the unforgiven ones don't seem to really fall into either category. Perhaps, just maybe it's because things can't be put down in pure black or white, but rather just a multitude of shades of gray?

The guilty and the innocents
The prisoners and the free
The ugly and the beautiful
The ones who are yet to be

Some are sinners, some repent
Some are never done
And then there's those like you and I
The unforgiven ones
The unforgiven ones

The rock that ships run up against
No matter how they tack
The murderers and the murdered ones
And the ones who don't come back

Some are sinners, some repent
Some are never done
And then there's those like you and I
The unforgiven ones
The unforgiven ones

The one whose heart is of a saint
The other's black as night
The one who never wondered
What made something wrong, or right

Some are sinners, some repent
Some are never done
And then there's those like you and I
The unforgiven ones
The unforgiven ones

Unforgiven perhaps, then again I never asked for it.
